MSPCA Cares for Two Legged Chihuahua Puppies

MSPCA Cares for Chihuahua Puppies Born without Front Legs: Open admission adoption centers never turn away an animal in need Three 10-week-old Chihuahuas born without front legs are currently receiving care through the MSPCA at Nevins Farm’s Foster Care Program. The MSPCA at Nevins Farm is one of four open admission adoption centers operated by the animal welfare organization, never turning away an animal in need. The tiny puppies arrived at the MSPCA at Nevins Farm on February 22 after their owner passed away. The adoption center staff quickly assessed that the Chihuahuas were adapting to life without front legs and could be potential candidates for wheeled carts. “The puppies astounded us with their upbeat and resilient nature,” said Mike Keiley, director of the Noble Family Animal Care and Adoption Center at the MPSCA at Nevins Farm. “They immediately showed us that they could overcome their physical obstacle as they hopped and ran after each other.” The three Chihuahuas are currently in the care of experienced foster parents, Linda and Marty Jones, who have provided care to the MSPCA’s homeless animals for more than a decade. As part of their care, the puppies are learning to socialize with other dogs through Puppy Play ‘n Learn, one of many classes offered by the MSPCA’s Dog Training and Behavior program. The Joneses are also working with the puppies to strengthen their muscles to compensate for their lack of front legs. “Kensi, Hetty, and G continue to show us that

Chihuahua Names: Cute Dog Names For The Little Guy

Chihuahua Names: Cute Dog Names For The Little Guy

Article by Richard Livitski

Owning a Chihuahua can be quite an adventure, as I’m sure most owners of this breed can attest to.

On one hand you’ve got this cute little dog that everyone wants to hold and pet. On the other hand, if you’re a stranger, you’ll be lucky to have four fingers left when you try, because it might just bite one off. This is because of the Chihuahuas extreme loyalty to those he’s familiar with, and his not appreciating what he feels might be an infringement of his territory.

Chihuahuas can also be an adventure to own simply by virtue of their attitudes. Hang around one for any length of time and you’ll notice that this little dog doesn’t seem to know that it’s little! Because of this, they’re often referred to as the little dog, with the big dog attitude. They can be aggressive toward other pets, and can bark up a storm over the littlest thing, which in most cases is bigger than the actual dog itself.

Even though the above mentioned characteristics can be interesting to say the least, more endearing qualities are those of the Chihuahuas extreme loyalty to those he’s familiar with. Also, this puppy has a high energy level and spunk, that can brighten anyone’s day.

Because of these diverse qualities, naming this pooch can prove a bit of a challenge. Should you choose any dog name? Or look for Chihuahua Names that best reflect it’s small size, or even it’s humorous big dog attitude?

Since we felt this unique pooch deserves a unique name, we’ve come up with some Chihuahua dog name suggestions that cover both it’s small size and it’s big attitude. Here’s some ideas from our dog names website…

Dog Names That Sound Small…Bambi, Bonbon, Bugsy, Butterball, Button, Cuddles, Doodle, Gumball, Junior, Kewpie, Laptop, Munchkin, Nibbles, Nipper, Peanut, Peewee, Puddles, Putt-Putt, Squeaky, Squirt, Tinkerbell

Dog Names That Sound Big…Attila, Big Shot, Boomer, Bruno, Bunyan, Butkus, Capone, Genghis, Grizzly, Hercules, Hulk, Jaws, Kahuna, Kong, Manley, Moose, Muscles, Rambo, Samson, Sarge, Stallion, Sumo, Terminator, Ulysses, Wookie, Yukon, Zeus

In closing, it’s important to remember that when naming any dog, Chihuahua or otherwise, not to give him a name that might cause him to be mocked or made fun of. When searching for the perfect male or female Chihuahua name, these names were suggested hoping to get your creative juices flowing, and start you off on the right paw.

Dog Training Tips

Dog Training Tips

Article by Nicky

Dog training is a very important part and should be one of the factor that can keep your dog integrated into your life.

Here I present to you 7 very important reason that you should conduct the training yourself:

Reason 1 : Poor training resulted in unruly dog which can be a serious nuisance and be destructive to the relationship with its owner.Effective training is essential for both a pet’s and it’s owner safety and the quality of life. Would you take the risk of leaving the Training to someone whom may not love your dog as much as you?

Reason 2: Effective training must be consistent

Effective training starts even while they are still puppies. The problems of leaving them to training school, is that they might be trained by different trainer and this reduces the consistency, which might confuse the dog.Effective raining tips.

Reason 3: Effective Training must be fun

Well, can you imagine how fun it is for an employee or trainer in the training school have? When in one day he or she has to conduct these type of Training for more than 5 dogs per day.

You get what I mean don’t you? but if you do it yourself, you can make the dog training session much more fun both which will be enjoyed by your dog and yourself.Effective dog training tips.

Reason 4: training creates lasting bonds between the trainer and traniee

Since it is your pet, how would you like it to have a better relationship with the trainer instead of with you. This can be disastrous.Dog training tips.

That is why there is some cases where robbery occurs and the dogs did not even bark or show any aggression, because the one that enter the house is known to the dogs.Training him/her yourself can create a much more satisfactory relationship with your dog and thus benefitting for both.

Reason 5: Professional training Session is costly and expensive while its effectiveness is very questionable at times.

The cost and frustration of bad training is very very expensive. You have to pay a lot and at the same time it will aggravate the dogs and frustrate you. Do it yourself training cost much lesser and if you do it right, it brings much pleasure and satisfation for the dog and yourself.Reason 6: You know your dog better than anyone.

You know when to train them at their most effective moment. When your dog is down with sickness or is not having fun, you will be able to notice them.

A lot of dog trainer may not be able to notice them as they are just doing their job. In addition to that, since your dog will be one of your best company,

Conducting training by yourself will set your dogs to be familiarise with your habit and the environment and places you have in your life.

This will be a much fulfilling experience for both the dogs and the owners. While in training school, your dog will only be confined to one or few common area of training.

When you bring the dog back home, you will still need to train him to the environment of your life. Isn’t it a waste?

Reason 7: Effective dog training do closely related on the condition of the trainer during the training Sessions.

You as trainer know your own condition during the training better than anyone. If you are not feeling well or not in the mood for training because of some personal problem that happens in your life.

Then you can choose not to train your dogs during such situation. What about when those trainer in the training school. When they are facing problem at home. Do they still need to train your dog? yes definitely ….

Do you think it will be effective and good for your dog?

So that’s it, The 7 reason, dog training, why you should do it yourself?

One fatal misconception that most dog owner have, is: It is difficult to conduct the dog training yourself….

Let me tell you that it is not as much difficult and troublesome as taking your dog to some training school.

It is much worth the the risk in dog training yourself than leave it to people whom you may never know what they instill in your dog while training them.

The best thing about searching online for the lists of names is that they are free and you don’t have to pay any money unless you want personal service t o help you choose the right name for your dog or if you want to purchase a book.
